Job summary

Mission Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a Centralized Scheduler to coordinate tests, admissions and registrations in our Admitting/Registration Department. This role ensures efficient access to care by scheduling tests and procedures across departments.

As the Hospital Admitting Clerk, you will greet patients, collect demographics and insurance information, obtain signatures, and transmit schedules to appropriate teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements.
• 1–2 years hospital environment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet timelines.
• Strong clerical and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and clinic visits across departments.
• Greet and register patients; collect demographics and insurance information; obtain signatures.
• Enter accurate patient demographics and insurance details into the system.
• Notify departments of services requiring equipment, instruments, or supplies.
• Prepare and distribute the surgical schedule and on-call lists.
