Job summary

Puget Sound Hospice seeks an experienced full-time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to lead volunteer services in Pierce and King County, with 50% time in Tacoma and 50% in Woodinville. You will recruit, train, supervise, and ensure program quality while collaborating with care teams.

The role emphasizes compliance, community outreach, and staff coordination to support patients at home, with a culture of teamwork and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (Human Services, Social Work, etc.).
• Experience: Background in volunteer coordination, hospice, healthcare, or nonprofit work preferred.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; able to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise: Oversee the delivery of all volunteer services, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Monitor performance: Track volunteer contributions, time, and service quality.
• Recruit and select: Interview, recruit, and choose volunteers for the program.
• Train and orient: Design/manage volunteer orientation and training sessions.
• Evaluate volunteers: Assess volunteer performance/provide feedback.
• Ensure compliance: Enforce volunteer hospice policies and procedures.
