Job summary

Puget Sound Hospice is seeking an experienced full-time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator to oversee volunteer services across Pierce and King County. You will recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, ensuring high-quality care and policy compliance in patients' homes.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to travel within the service area. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s preferred (Human Services, Social Work, etc.).
• Experience in volunteer coordination, hospice, healthcare, or nonprofit work preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to work with diverse groups.
• Organizational skills with scheduling, hours tracking, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise all volunteer services to ensure quality and compliance.
• Monitor volunteer contributions, time, and service quality.
• Recruit, interview, and select volunteers for the program.
• Design and manage volunteer orientation and training sessions.
• Evaluate volunteer performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Enforce hospice policies and procedures for volunteers.
• Promote community awareness and partnerships to support patients.
• Collaborate with care teams during patient home visits.
