Job summary

Hinds LifeCare in California's Central Valley seeks a Registered Nurse Float to join our hospice team. The RN Float provides skilled nursing services across departments and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate end-of-life care.

The ideal candidate will have an NLN-accredited nursing program, RN licensure, CPR certification, and the ability to cover variable shifts and travel within service areas.

Qualifications

• Completed a professional nursing program accredited by the National League for Nursing (prefer completion of a baccalaureate program in nursing).
• One year experience in acute care facility or community health agency, (hospice experience a plus).
• Current RN Licensure and CPR Certification.
• Valid drivers license, auto insurance, reliable transportation and a willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 35 lbs.)
• Availability to a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Float between hospice departments, service areas, teams, and care settings as assigned.
• Adapt quickly to varying patient populations, caseloads, and workflow requirements.
• Provide staffing coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, call-outs, and census fluctuations.
• Support admissions, routine visits, continuous care, inpatient care, and on-call services as needed.
• Maintain flexibility regarding schedules, assignments, and geographic coverage areas.
