Job summary

Bristol Hospice in North Miami, FL is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse with strong assessment skills to join our hospice team. You will perform comprehensive patient and family assessments, develop and revise plans of care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary group.

The role is PRN hourly with day shifts, offering competitive pay ($37–$40 hourly) and benefits including tuition reimbursement, PTO, health coverage, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• 1 year home care experience preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• Understanding hospice philosophy and care for terminally ill.
• Flexibility in work hours.
• Demonstrated nursing skills per competency checklist.
• Willingness to maintain knowledge of information systems and software.
• Ability to travel throughout Bristol Hospice service area.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing comprehensive patient and family assessments to determine hospice needs.
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments and obtain histories.
• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess and evaluate patient status and write/update plans of care.
• Re-evaluate patient and family/caregiver needs regularly.
• Revise the plan of care as patient status changes.
• Initiate and revise the plan of care as needed.
• Use health data to determine nursing diagnoses.
• Develop a care plan with goals based on nursing diagnosis.
• Involve patient and family in planning.
• Document pain and symptom management and changes.
• Communicate with physician regarding patient needs and obtain orders.
• Educate patient and family self-care techniques.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• All other duties as assigned.
