Job summary

Care Initiatives Hospice in Omaha, NE seeks a compassionate RN for a 7 days on/7 days off schedule. You will provide comprehensive end-of-life care at home or in patient settings, focusing on dignity and comfort.

As a Hospice Nurse - RN, you’ll respond to needs during nights and weekends, engage with families, educate caregivers, and collaborate with the care team to tailor support and pain management with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• RN with a minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience.
• Current, valid CPR certification.
• Demonstrated patience and a supportive and sensitive approach to providing patient, family, and caregiver support.
• Willingness and ability to provide care in facility and patient home settings.

Responsibilities

• This is a full-time role with a 7 days on/7 days off schedule; takes calls from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM and some weekend coverage.
• Support patients and families in their time of greatest need and respond to emergent needs on weekends, evenings and overnight.
• Assist caregivers and patients, provide meds available, and offer teaching to ensure comfort during pain, breathlessness, dying/transitioning or at the time of death with compassion and dignity.
