Job summary

Bristol Hospice - Merced, CA is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver high-quality hospice care. This PRN/hours option offers flexible shifts in the Merced service area.

The role emphasizes nursing process, ongoing plan-of-care development, family involvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure compassionate, dignified care for patients and their loved ones.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• 1 year of home care experience preferred.
• Current nursing licensure in the state.
• Ability to work flexible hours and travel within Bristol Hospice Service Area.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient and family assessments to determine hospice needs.
• Provide a complete physical assessment and medical history.
• Deliver professional nursing care using the nursing process.
• Develop and revise the care plan with patient and family input.
• Document pain and symptom management and outcomes.
• Communicate changes with the physician and obtain orders as required.
• Educate patients and families on self-care techniques.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
