Good Shepherd Hospice in Independence, MO is seeking a Hospice Consultant to educate providers and families about hospice options and early engagement.

The role emphasizes relationship-building with hospitals, home health agencies, SNFs, clinics, and physician offices, plus mission-driven outreach and community representation.

Candidates should have a compassionate approach, strong communication skills, and a Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing/communications with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, mission-driven approach to serving others.
• Self-motivation, organization, and ability to work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in healthcare, sales, community outreach, or relationship-based roles.
• Prior hospice or home health experience is a plus.
• Strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, SNFs or home health pros.
• Strong communication and trust-building abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource and advocate for patients and families, helping them understand hospice options and early benefits.
• Share the mission and services with compassion and clarity to referral partners.
• Build and strengthen relationships with hospitals, home health agencies, SNFs, clinics, and physician offices.
• Engage in conversations with healthcare professionals about patient needs and hospice benefits.
• Plan and carry out outreach to increase awareness and timely referrals.
• Represent Good Shepherd Hospice at community events and professional associations.
