Job summary

Gentiva is seeking an Area Vice President of Hospice Operations to lead and elevate our Indiana South multi-site hospice programs. You will drive regulatory compliance, financial stewardship, staff development, and high-quality patient care across sites.

The role involves building partnerships with hospitals and clinicians, providing executive-level oversight, and fostering strong community engagement while guiding performance improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• RN degree highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field considered.
• Multi-site operational leadership experience strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospice or healthcare operations.
• 3+ years of direct healthcare services leadership preferred.
• Proven expertise in regulatory compliance, budgeting, staff leadership, and multi-site operations.
• Experience with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of hospice CoPs, CMS regulations, and accreditation standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
• Passion for patient-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Ability to balance strategy, operations, and field leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day hospice operations across multiple sites in IN South.
• Ensure regulatory excellence: Medicare/state licensing/accreditation readiness.
• Build and expand referral partnerships with hospitals, SNFs, physicians, and discharge planners.
• Provide clinical and operational oversight for patient care in home, hospital, and long-term settings.
• Direct executive directors, medical staff, volunteers, and teams to optimize care coordination.
• Represent Gentiva in the community; manage PR and address public/patient concerns.
• Drive quality improvement and ongoing performance initiatives.
