Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a licensed massage therapist to join our care team serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. You will apply evidence-based massage techniques to aid rehabilitation and relieve pain for a range of conditions, from sprains to neurological issues.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, collaborating with the treatment team, and using heat, hydrotherapy, and prescribed exercises to complement massage.

Qualifications

• One to two years related experience and/or training or Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
• Applicable State License to practice Massage Therapy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Applies the techniques of scientific massage to assist in the rehabilitation of sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations, as well as to help eliminate pian from neuritic, arthritic, and rheumatic conditions.
• Applies massage to relieve various forms of paralysis, insomnia, migraine headaches, and other conditions caused by poor functioning of the nervous system.
• Provides relief of muscle tightness caused by stress and shortens recovery time for injured athletes with massage therapy.
• Works with various agents to complement massage, including application of heat and light, hydrotherapy (water treatment), and exercise.
• Submits periodic reports to treatment team or Physician to provide clinical data for evaluation.

Education and Experience

One to two years related experience and/or training or Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification and Licensure

Applicable State License to practice Massage Therapy.

PAY RANGE

$21.85 - $32.77
