Job summary

Mercyhealth in Riverside, OH is seeking an RN student or nursing assistant to assist with patient care, collect data, document in the medical record, and support procedures within scope.

The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited RN program in good standing with no more than two semesters remaining and must obtain CPR/BLS certification within 90 days. The role includes unit-based float and performance improvement participation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides patient treatments as ordered within scope.

  • Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the RN.
  • Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.
  • Floats to various units based on identified need.
  • Participates in department and unit performance improvement activities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of High School or GED preferred.
  • Enrolled in an accredited, or accredited eligible, RN program, in academic good standing and have no more than 2 semesters to complete until program completion.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days (other certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP).
