Job summary

Ohio’s Hospice is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, OH. This PRN night-shift role emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered hospice care in a collaborative environment.

The ideal candidate will have an RN license in Ohio, BSN preferred, and experience in acute care. Responsibilities include assessments, care planning, and family support, with emphasis on communication and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Ohio.
• Two years of acute care nursing experience preferred.
• CHPN credential preferred. Ohio’s Hospice supports eligible employees pursuing certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate EMR records.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to travel safely when required, including in varying weather and driving conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Assess patients’ physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
• Develop and update individualized plans of care with the team and families.
• Evaluate patient conditions and adjust care plans, medications, and visit frequency.
• Communicate significant findings to physicians and team members promptly.
• Participate in hospice admissions, IDT meetings, and care conferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Educate and support caregivers, volunteers, and other care team members.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote coordinated patient care.
• Assist with orientation and mentoring of new clinical team members.
