Job summary

HopeHealth is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its affiliate HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care. This inpatient position will be located in Providence, RI and per diem with no benefits.

You will provide professional nursing care, coordinate care from assessment to discharge, administer medications, document meticulously, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. BSN preferred; 1-3 years of hospice or related experience; strong assessment and communication skills; dosage

Qualifications

• RN required
• BSN preferred
• 1-3 years of related experience
• Strong nursing assessment, clinical skills and communication skills
• Hospice care and/or related experience preferred
• Successful candidate must be able to show proficiency in medication dosage calculations

Responsibilities

• Welcomes and admits patients and families to the Inpatient Unit in a competent, professional, compassionate, and responsive manner.
• Coordinates nursing care from initial assessment through discharge and completes required paperwork in accordance with policies and standards.
• Initiates and sustains administration of medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation and ensures confidentiality.
• Observes patient condition changes and reports to attending physician and supervisors; records pain/symptom changes.
• Supports activities of daily living and teaches self-care techniques; provides medication and care instructions.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and educates patients/families on home safety when discharge occurs.
• Precepts two to three shifts per week during the first two to three months.
