Job summary

Suncoast Hospice of Hillsborough, a part of Empath Health, is seeking a mission-driven Professional Relations Liaison to join our business development team in Hillsborough County. The Liaison educates referral sources about Empath Health services and acts as a consultant in palliative and hospice care.

The role focuses on marketing, relationship building, and expanding access through collaborations with hospitals, physicians, and community agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university.
• Minimum 2 years outreach, professional relations and/or sales experience.
• Minimum 5 years clinical expertise in related discipline preferred.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal relationship skills, including public speaking.
• Ability to travel throughout the county with reliable transportation.
• Must provide valid automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and enhance relationships with area hospitals, nursing homes, ALFs, physicians and community agencies.
• Maintain membership in related health care professional organizations for networking.
• Establish a database of information, including physician and hospital preferences.
• Collect and analyze data of referral patterns from physicians, social workers, discharge planners, hospital vs community physicians and SNFs.
• Provide formal and informal education opportunities with physicians, staff and community partners.
• Be a communication link to hospitals/nursing homes/physicians for easy access to hospice services.
• Develop collaborations to maximize access to hospice for patients/families.
