Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Advocate Trinity Hospital - Med Surg unit. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with 7 PM–7 AM night shifts.

The position involves patient room setup, patient orientation, vital signs, and assisting with daily living activities in a hospice-adjacent care environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and CPR certification; completion of a CAN program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of CAN program preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in Admission/Discharge Transfer under guidance of Hospice nurse or supervisor.
• Sets up patient room and orients patient and family to layout, call lights, bed, TV and phone.
• Obtains vital signs, height and weight, and ensures belongings are documented at admission/transfer/discharge.
• Provides personal care (bathing, oral/denture care, shaving, backrub, skin care) and assists with activities and transfers.
• Responds to call lights and patient requests; maintains patient confidentiality and safety.
