Job summary

Arkansas Hospice in Monticello, AR seeks a Chaplain to provide direct spiritual support and counseling to patients and families, in alignment with hospice policies. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address spiritual and bereavement needs and participate in education and community outreach.

The role requires seminary education or equivalent certification and at least three years of pastoral care experience, with flexibility in hours and a valid Arkansas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral care ministry.
• Minimum of three years pastoral care experience, preferably in a hospice, home health, hospital, or other healthcare setting.
• Valid Arkansas driver’s license, car, and car insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct spiritual support and/or counsel to patients/families.
• Follows up on patient/family spiritual and bereavement needs as indicated.
• Works with staff, clergy, and community groups to address spiritual concerns.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and reports on spiritual services.
• Develops a spiritual plan of care based on assessments.
• Maintains documentation of visits to patients/families.
• Collaborates with clergy or representatives as needed.
• Assists in funeral or memorial service arrangements.
