Job summary

Compassus seeks a Chaplain to provide spiritual support to patients and families within a hospice setting, aligning with the Compassus values and upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in Divinity, Social Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Completion of at least one unit of CPE preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in spiritual/pastoral support.
• Minimum of one year experience in pastoral support related to loss, grief, bereavement, or trauma preferred.
• Documentation of ordination or commission as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Explains hospice services and Medicare benefits to patients and families; obtains informed consent and election documents.
• Submit documentation to facilities after patient visits per policy.
• Articulate regulatory framework governing spiritual care (federal/state).
• Participate as an IDT member and contribute to the plan of care.
• Provide spiritual care to patient and family; involve community clergy if requested.
• Counsel patient and family; support bereavement processes; coordinate with IDT for care continuity.
