Job summary

Serenity Hospice Care is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to join our Mercer County team. The Chaplain will assess spiritual needs, arrange for religious support, and aid families through bereavement, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include at least one CPE unit, a minimum of one year of supervised experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one CPE unit completed.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in a medical, educational or religious setting preferred.
• Demonstrate an inter-faith approach to spiritual care with cultural/theological competence.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; presentation and teaching ability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assess the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families.
• Arrange for the provision of spiritual and religious support in accordance with patient wishes.
• Support families in the bereavement process.
• Assist with patients' spiritual needs and participate in care planning.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate with families and patients.
• Maintain documentation via emails, voicemails, and patient charting.

Serenity Hospice Care is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain to join our team in Mercer County. The Chaplain is responsible for assessing the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families, arrange for the provision of spiritual and religious support in accordance with their wishes, and supporting families in the bereavement process.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with patients spiritual needs, including coordination of services.

• Provide spiritual counseling and emotional support to patients/families.

• Participate in the development of the care plan.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

• Communicate with families and patients.

• Demonstrate commitment to Serenity Hospice's philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.

• Answering emails, voicemails, patient database charting, etc.

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit.

• Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in a medical, educational or religious agency/institution preferred.

• Ability to provide an inter-faith approach to spiritual care demonstrating a high level of cultural and theological competence in working with diverse faith and belief systems.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and teaching skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Reliable transportation with valid Drivers License and Auto Liability Insurance.
