Job summary

Serenity Hospice Care is seeking a compassionate Hospice Chaplain to serve patients and families across New Jersey, with coverage in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties. The role focuses on assessing spiritual needs, arranging support, and aiding families through bereavement.

Key duties include coordinating services, counseling patients and families, and collaborating with the care team to integrate spiritual care into the overall plan.

Qualifications

• Minimum one CPE unit completed.
• At least 1 year of supervised experience in medical, educational, or religious setting preferred.
• Ability to provide inter-faith spiritual care with cultural and theological competence.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Serenity Hospice Care is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain to join our team in Burlington/Camden/Gloucester County. The Chaplain is responsible for assessing the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families, arrange for the provision of spiritual and religious support in accordance with their wishes, and supporting families in the bereavement process.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with patients spiritual needs, including coordination of services.
• Provide spiritual counseling and emotional support to patients/families.
• Participate in the development of the care plan.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate with families and patients.
• Demonstrate commitment to Serenity Hospice’s philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organizational culture.
• Answering emails, voicemails, patient database charting, etc.

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of one Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) unit.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in a medical, educational or religious agency/institution preferred.
• Ability to provide an inter-faith approach to spiritual care demonstrating a high level of cultural and theological competence in working with diverse faith and belief systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and teaching skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Reliable transportation with valid Drivers License and Auto Liability Insurance.
