Providence at Home with Compassus invites applications for a grief counselor role to support bereaved individuals and families. You will deliver individual and family counseling, co-facilitate support groups, and help oversee program components in a compassionate hospice setting.

The position requires a Master’s degree and 3+ years post-master’s experience, including grief work with children, plus 2+ years in healthcare services and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or pastoral studies, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years post-master’s experience including internships.
• 1 year grief counseling for children and families.
• 2 years in healthcare services.
• Strong interpersonal communication and group facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and family grief support and counseling.
• Co-facilitate bereavement support groups as needed.
• Oversee bereavement program components and training.
• Participate in community education on grief and bereavement.
• Foster positive relationships within the team, agency, and organization.
• Engage in education activities to improve knowledge and professional growth.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety during duties.
• Uphold a professional, supportive work environment.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and company information per HIPAA regulations.
