Job summary

Capital Caring Health seeks a Grief Counselor to provide short-term counseling to individuals, children, and families coping with grief and loss. The role includes developing a Bereavement Plan of Care and offering short-term counseling, support groups, and educational programs.

The position involves coordinating community-based grief education, supervising interns, and collaborating with an IDT to tailor interventions for diverse clients in a compassionate, HIPAA-compliant manner.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of clinical counseling experience in death/dying grief, loss and survivorship.
• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Thanatology, Expressive Arts, Mental Health Counseling or Pastoral Counseling.
• License eligible or Board Certified depending on degree and jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term grief counseling to individuals, couples, families and children.
• Develop the Bereavement Plan of Care based on IDT assessment after patient death.
• Offer group counseling, support groups, and workshops; provide educational resources.
• Coordinate community-based grief education and referrals; supervise interns.
