Job summary

VitalCaring Group is seeking an Area Sales Director – Hospice to lead a high-performing sales team and expand market share across the assigned territory.

You will drive referral growth, build strategic partnerships with physicians and healthcare providers, and work closely with operations to align goals.

The role emphasizes coaching, accountability, and a patient-centered approach, with a focus on compliant, ethical growth and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of healthcare or home-based care sales experience.
• Proven history of achieving or exceeding sales and growth goals.
• Experience with territory management, business development, and referral relationships.
• Sales leadership, coaching, or team development experience strongly preferred.
• Hospice sales experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, presentation, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze market opportunities and develop effective growth strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Account Managers and Care Transition Navigators to achieve referral and sales goals.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain high-performing sales professionals.
• Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, education, and feedback.
• Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and consistent execution.
• Develop and monitor performance improvement plans when needed.
• Equip team with knowledge, tools, and strategies to grow markets.
• Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans for the territory.
• Create individualized growth strategies and sales plans based on market opportunity.
• Drive referral and revenue growth through effective territory management and market expansion.
• Identify market trends, competitive opportunities, referral patterns, and barriers to growth.
