Job summary

Valor Hospice in Dallas, TX is seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to join our team. You will provide direct patient care under RN supervision, assist with transfers and ambulation, and document care to ensure continuity of service.

The role requires reading, writing and reporting clinical information clearly, with a focus on infection control, patient dignity, and compassionate communication with patients and families. A valid driver's license is preferred and reliable transportation is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Complete Medicare §418.76(a)-(d) training or equivalent.
• Nurse aide training or state nursing assistant program acceptable.
• State licensure program that meets §418.76 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN direction per the Plan of Care.
• Assist with safe transfers and ambulation per Hospice policy.
• Report changes and document care rendered to ensure continuity of care.
• Practice infection control; provide a clean, safe environment.
• Promote respectful communication to patient and family.
• Assist with nutrition and adequate fluid intake.
• Contribute to efficient hospice operation and time management.
• Provide skills to perform treatments and procedures per Hospice.
