Job summary

Queen City Hospice is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our admissions team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role focuses on guiding patients and families through the start of their hospice journey with compassionate, patient-centered care.

As an Admissions RN, you will conduct evaluations, educate families about hospice services, obtain consent, and develop individualized care plans. The role offers a low patient caseload, no on-call, and a stable schedule in a fast-growing organization.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-admission evaluations to determine eligibility and appropriateness of care.
• Educate patients and families about hospice services with compassion and clarity.
• Obtain informed consent and initiate the admission process.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.

What You’ll Do

As a Hospice Admissions RN, you play a critical role in guiding patients and families through the start of their hospice journey:

• Conduct pre‑admission evaluations to determine eligibility and appropriateness of care
• Educate patients and families about hospice services with compassion and clarity
• Obtain informed consent and initiate the admission process
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Deliver interventions that maximize comfort, dignity, and quality of life

What You Bring

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Hospice experience (preferred, not required)
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
• Compassionate communication skills with patients, families, and care teams
• Understanding of quality assurance and patient care standards
