Day City Hospice in Dayton, OH seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as Admissions Nurse. You’ll assess eligibility, educate families, and manage the admission process to ensure compassionate end-of-life care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current Ohio RN license and CPR certification.
• Hospice experience preferred; strong clinical judgment and independent decision making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-admission evaluations to determine hospice eligibility.
• Educate patients and families about hospice care and services.
• Facilitate admission process and obtain informed consent.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Develop initial care plans based on patient and family needs.
• Deliver interventions promoting comfort, dignity and quality of life.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient care.

What Youll Do
