Day City Hospice in Ohio seeks a dedicated Hospice Aide (STNA) for PRN home care in the Greater Dayton Area. Qualifications

• Active STNA in good standing.
• CNA certification.
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum age 16.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to hospice patients in home settings.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting.
• Support patient comfort and safety including use of medical equipment.
• Take and document vital signs as directed.
• Observe and report changes to the RN Case Manager.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to hospice patients in home settings
• Assist with activities of daily living ADLs including bathing grooming oral care dressing and toileting
• Support patient comfort and safety including proper use of medical equipment oxygen bed rails etc
• Perform skin care and positioning to prevent breakdown and promote comfort
• Assist with meal preparation feeding and light household tasks as assigned
• Take and document vital signs temperature pulse respirations blood pressure as directed
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN Case Manager
• Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families
• Offer respite care for caregivers when needed
• Maintain accurate timely documentation in compliance with hospice standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age
• Active State Tested Nursing Assistant STNA
• Certified Nursing Assistant CNA certification
• Listed on the state nurse aide registry in good standing
• Current BLS
• Passionate care to terminally ill patients
• Strong communication and observational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in hospice home health or long term care
• Experience supporting patients with chronic or terminal conditions
