Special Instructions
This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time and temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;
- OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment;
- OR a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;
- OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

- Expertise in culturally responsive teaching in horticulture, particularly as it relates to the relevance of horticulture to students’ lives, interests, and communities.
- Demonstrated ability to address equity gaps of racially minoritized groups within horticulture.
