Communication Studies Instructor Pool – Part‑Time

Special Instructions

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part‑time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

Position Details

Classification Title: Communication Studies Instructor Pool – Part‑Time

Salary: $1572.67 – $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1258.16 – $1380.60 per lab unit rate.

Column Range: Column 1 – Column 3 (depending on education)

Work Schedule: Varies.

Location: Cypress College.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Master’s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English OR possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area OR the equivalent.

Experience teaching and mentoring historically and socially minoritized/marginalized communities such as African‑American/Black, Chicanx/Latinx, Pacific Islander, Native American, women, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities.
