Theater Instructor Pool-Part-Time

Special Instructions Summary

This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part‑time, temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. When the need arises, the department will refer to this pool of part‑time faculty.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
• or Bachelor’s or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance
• and Master’s in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities
• or possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area, or the equivalent.
• Commitment to diversity, demonstrated sensitivity and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, non‑traditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
