Job summary

Piedmont Technical College is seeking applicants to build an active pool of qualified Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part-time). Instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and at six county centers across Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick.

Courses may be daytime, evening, online, or dual credit with local high schools. Positions are temporary and reviewed as teaching opportunities become available.

Qualifications

• An associate or bachelor's degree in a horticulture-related discipline is required.
• Two (2) years of work experience in a horticulture or landscape-related position are required.
• A master's degree in a horticulture-related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of work experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach a diverse student body at various locations following established syllabi.
• Plan, manage, and deliver course instruction.
• Follow EPA and OSHA regulations pertinent to the program.
• Participate in college functions as needed.
• Apply teaching practices supporting program and college improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications to build an active pool of qualified candidates for Adjunct Faculty (temporary, part‑time) positions. Adjunct instructors may teach at the Lex D. Walters Campus and/or at one of the college’s six county centers located in Laurens, Newberry, Edgefield, Saluda, Abbeville, and McCormick. Opportunities may include daytime or evening classes, online instruction, and dual credit courses offered at local high schools. Applications will be reviewed on an as‑needed basis as teaching opportunities become available.

• teaching a diverse student body in accordance with established syllabi at various locations, utilizing instructional technology, and applying a variety of effective teaching methods
• planning, managing, and delivering course instruction
• following all EPA and OSHA regulations that pertain to the program
• participating in college functions as needed
• applying teaching practices that support the continuous improvement of both the program and the college

Adjunct faculty are expected to serve as professional team members who support the mission and vision of the college while performing their duties with the highest level of quality and service.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

An associate or bachelor's degree in a horticulture-related discipline is required, along with two (2) years of work experience in a horticulture or landscape-related position.
