Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to join its ranks and perform essential site preparation for military construction projects. You will operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other large equipment to clear and prepare terrain for runways, roads, and buildings.

You will learn and perform tasks from grade staking to material handling, with nine weeks of Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment and machinery is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Good physical conditioning and stamina required.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig construction sites.
• Spread fill material and move heavy materials with cranes.
• Transport heavy construction equipment when needed.
• Assist in combat engineer missions.
