Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Horizontal Construction Engineer to remove obstacles and operate heavy equipment for construction projects. You will level earth for runways and roadbeds, clear and excavate sites, and assist in combat engineer missions.

Training leads to civilian construction skills and certifications. You will earn while you learn with paid training and tuition assistance as part of a part-time service commitment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
• Experience operating heavy construction equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of soil types and grade stakes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds; clear, excavate, and dig areas of construction sites.
• Spread fill material and transport heavy equipment as needed.
• Move building materials with cranes and assist in combat engineer missions.
