Job summary

White Sands Hotel in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Part-Time Steward to join the kitchen team. You will wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, maintain the cleanliness of dishwashing stations, and assist with basic food prep to support smooth operations.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift heavy items, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior kitchen steward experience is a plus but not required, with focus on safety and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Previous experience in a kitchen steward or similar role preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and moving heavy items.
• Basic understanding of sanitation and safety standards in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong work ethic with reliability and punctuality.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing stations, and storage areas throughout the shift.
• Dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables according to established procedures and maintain waste areas in a clean and orderly manner.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and restock kitchen supplies as needed to support smooth operations.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
• Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen management team promptly.
• Collaborate with other kitchen and service team members to ensure timely and efficient workflow.
