Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Homeowner’s Assistance Counselor-3 in Cincinnati, OH to support delinquent mortgage customers. You will guide borrowers toward workout options, coordinate with investors and insurers, and maintain compliant processes while minimizing losses.

Role requires knowledge of mortgage servicing, strong communication, and the ability to work with minimum supervision. Includes base salary and incentive plan with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years collection, support or related customer service experience.
• Knowledge of mortgage default timelines and guidelines.
• FDCPA/privacy/state law awareness in collections.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with Word, Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Initiate contact with defaulted customers to discuss workout options.
• Make collection calls with a defined account load.
• Analyze borrower situations to propose Forbearance, Repayment or Modifications.
• Review and negotiate foreclosure or repossession alternatives within deadlines.
• Explain all workout options per guidelines and requirements.
• Escalate complex accounts to management as needed.
• Maintain documentation of collection efforts.
