Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Center on Children, Families, and the Law seeks a Homelessness Prevention Manager to lead the planning, launch, and ongoing operation of Nebraska’s Right at Home initiative. You will coordinate timelines, ensure partner readiness, support HMIS workflows, and supervise staff in a complex multi-partner environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, sociology, public health, human services, nonprofit management, planning, community development, research administration, or a related field and two years of experience in project coordination, program implementation, homelessness response, housing services, homelessness prevention, housing stabilization, human services, nonprofit administration, public systems work, or a closely related area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of housing instability, homelessness response systems, housing stabilization, or related human services systems.
  • Experience supporting multi-step projects involving timelines, meetings, documentation, task tracking, partner communication, and follow-up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work professionally with nonprofit providers, public agencies, funders, researchers, and internal staff.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, launch, implementation, and ongoing operation of Nebraska’s Right at Home homelessness prevention initiative.
  • Coordinate provider readiness, community based service HUB technical assistance, service coordination.
  • Collaborate on HMIS operational workflows and payment processing via external common fund holder.
  • Support evaluation and supervise assigned Right at Home staff.
