Job summary

The City of Champaign invites you to join as Homelessness/Community Services Manager to lead prevention and response efforts for residents facing housing insecurity. This is mission-driven work blending strategy, partnerships, and measurable impact.

As the primary liaison, you will develop policies, manage grants and budgets, analyze data, and coordinate programs with partners and internal departments to deliver sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field.
• Progressively responsible professional administrative and analytical experience including strategic planning, budget and/or policy analysis.
• Experience with budget or grant management.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and evaluation of the City’s Homelessness Prevention Blueprint.
• Develop policies, strategies, and performance measures that advance homelessness prevention and response.
• Collaborate with community partners, service agencies, nonprofits, and internal departments to coordinate services.
• Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports for City leadership and stakeholders.
• Manage grants, budgets, procurement processes, and contracts to ensure alignment with City goals and compliance.
• Serve as the City’s liaison for homelessness inquiries, communications, training, and public education.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field
