Job summary

City of Champaign seeks a Homelessness and Community Services Manager to lead the Homelessness Prevention Blueprint, develop policies, manage data, and coordinate programs supporting residents facing housing insecurity.

In collaboration with community partners and internal departments, you will guide grant budgets, evaluate programs, and serve as a liaison to advance sustainable solutions for Champaign’s most vulnerable residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or a related field.
• Progressively responsible administrative and analytical experience managing complex projects or programs, including strategic planning, budget, and policy analysis.
• Experience with budget or grant management.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Leading the implementation and evaluation of the City’s Homelessness Prevention Blueprint.
• Developing policies, strategies, and performance measures that advance homelessness prevention and response.
• Collaborating with community partners, service agencies, nonprofits, and internal departments to coordinate services.
• Conducting research and preparing reports for City leadership and stakeholders.
• Managing grants, budgets, procurement processes, and contracts to ensure alignment with goals and compliance.
• Serving as the City’s liaison for homelessness inquiries, communications, training, and education.
