Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) is seeking a Part-Time Personal Service Coordinator to perform street outreach, community-based case management, and housing linkage for homeless individuals. You will collaborate with an integrated mobile team and ensure timely documentation and progression toward housing stability.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED with 1 year of outreach experience; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, and bilingual candidates are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required with at least 1 year of outreach psychosocial rehab experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field preferred.
• Bi-lingual applicants are preferred.
• People with lived mental health experience are preferred.
• Flexibility to work some evenings or weekends; on-call cell phone services.
• Valid CPR and basic first aid certificate preferred.
• Ability to provide services in the field at various locations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Work with an integrated mobile team to provide street outreach and case management.
• Engage with homeless individuals and link them to housing.
• Develop and implement mental health recovery plans with members.
• Provide housing-related support, including navigating housing options and landlord interactions.
• Provide transportation to services and accompany members on public transit when needed.
• Deliver life skills training to improve daily living activities.
• Mentor and advocate for members to achieve recovery goals.
• Participate in trainings to enhance intervention strategies.
• Maintain records and ensure documentation and billing compliance.
• Attend regular team meetings and communicate member concerns.
