Job summary

Las Vegas Rescue Mission in Las Vegas, NV is hiring an Outreach Specialist to proactively engage homeless individuals, educate them on available services, and connect them with housing, detox, or support programs. This full-time, grant-funded position reports to city authorities and works with LVMPD and city marshals for multi-agency efforts.

The role requires driving, data entry, crisis intervention, and collaboration with medical staff; 40 hours per week with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Active driver’s license with clean driving history (10 years).
• Previous outreach experience with vulnerable populations preferred.
• Bilingual speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage the identified area with the homeless and educate them on services to mitigate homelessness in their area.
• Assist clients with mental/behavioral health, veterans services, chronic homelessness, detox/withdrawal management, addictions, or families with children as applicable.
• Enter data (HMIS) to capture encounters and services provided.
• Create and respond to dispatches and coordinate services.
• Offer a range of services to meet needs and assist entry into housing programs when possible.
• Transport engaged persons to shelter, housing, detox/rehab, or follow-up appointments.
• Complete appropriate assessments and provide crisis interventions as needed in line with policies.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical staff.
