Job summary

Optum, through Caretenders and LHC Group, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under a supervising PT in home care.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified new hires, with a flexible full-time weekday schedule and comprehensive benefits supporting health, well-being, and work-life balance. Responsibilities include following state laws, guiding exercises, and coordinating care with the health team.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Ability to function in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Following all state laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care; perform only procedures qualified and trained to perform and report changes to supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional activities, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and condition changes to the supervising PT, coordinating care with the healthcare team.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy areas within the scope of the PTA.
