Home Visiting Program Coordinator

Are you skilled with project management and organization and want to make a difference in the lives of families with young children in Utah? The Utah Department of Health and Human Services is looking for a Health Program Coordinator to lead and inspire a team dedicated to monitor and support home visiting programs across the state.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts or participates in day-to-day development and monitoring of contracts, subrecipient agreements, and grants, in support of the larger program functions
  • Plans, develops and coordinates one or more large, complex projects
  • Supervising subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions
  • Writing or drafting correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials
  • Analyzing, summarizing and/or reviewing data; reporting findings, interpreting results and/or making recommendations
  • Gathering data, preparing reports or summarizing information
  • Enforcing laws, rules, and regulations
  • Interpreting, clarifying, explaining and applying agency policy and procedures, business practices, federal or state laws and regulations, etc.
  • Collaborates with other state and local programs, organizations and agencies, and with various stakeholders to promote program goals and objectives
  • Delivering presentations, stand up training, or instruction to staff, management, clients, or the general public
Qualifications
  • Experience dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
  • Experience communicating complex information effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations and policies.
  • Ability to monitor performance of a team, as well as individual local implementation sites.
  • Ability to write and create professional training, presentations, and policies.
  • Experience in data analysis and development of reports through Microsoft Excel or similar programs.
  • Experience implementing federal grants, including ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
Preferred
  • Experience with one of the following evidence-based home visiting models: Parents as Teachers, Nurse-Family Partnership, or Family Spirit
  • Experience working directly with early childhood populations in an education or health setting
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Health, Public Administration and Policy, Health Policy, Health Promotion/Education, Health Science or Community Leadership or related experience.
Supplemental Information
  • Occasional in state, out of state, overnight and weekend travel may be required.
  • Serving as a Home Visiting Program Coordinator involves supporting local implementation sites and is not a position providing direct service in clients homes.
  • This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position’s eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason.

  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
