Job summary

Denise Louie Education Center seeks a Home Visiting Supervisor to train and manage home visiting staff, ensuring plan adherence and high-quality assessments of staff and family well‑being. Regular home visits and travel across King County are required.

You will monitor records, PIR targets, and program performance while collaborating with EHS teams and community partners to support families and infants/toddlers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Family Studies, or related field; MA preferred.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience managing high-level professionals.
  • Three years’ experience with children and families in an early childhood setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge related to infants/toddlers, maternal health, safety, nutrition, poverty, adult learning, family dynamics.
  • Compassion and understanding of immigrant/refugee families.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License with daily access to a vehicle and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Train, model, and coach Home Visitors to deliver services per Early Head Start standards.
  • Observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on Home Visitors’ skills.
  • Identify barriers to attendance and collaborate on solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of visits, child progress, and parent goals in data systems.
  • Monitor PIR and program performance to meet goals and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Child Development, Head Start, and families for transitions and referrals.
  • Support development of the Early Head Start team with the EHS Support Team and Coach.
  • Plan and facilitate group socializations with Home Visitors and Health Services.

Job description

Position Summary

The Home Visiting Supervisor trains and manages home visiting staff and ensures visiting plans are maintained. This position will make regular visits to client homes and provide assessments of Home Visitors’ performance and client families’ well-being. Travel to various locations in the King County area is required.

Essential Functions
  • Provide Home Visitors with training, modeling, and coaching to ensure the delivery of responsive services in line with the Early Head Start (EHS) performance standards and curricula.
  • Observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on Home Visitors’ skills through Reflective and Administrative Supervision. Observe consistent home visits with each Home Visitor.
  • Work to identify and address barriers preventing children and families from attending home visits and socializations. Collaborate with staff to identify solutions to increase attendance and engagement.
  • Monitor and support Home Visitors in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of home visits, child progress, parent contact, parent goals, planning forms, and data entry into electronic data system.
  • Monitor Program Information Report (PIR) using electronic data system and tracking system to ensure health, child development, and family partnership goals are being set and met in a timely fashion.
  • Monitor overall program performance and develop plans to identify and address concerns, as well as grow and support team capacity as a whole.
  • Collaborate with Child Development, Head Start programs, Home Visitors, and families to ensure a smooth transition for children into and out of the EHS program.
  • Collaborate with Child Development, community partners and consultants to facilitate appropriate referrals and connection with Early Intervention, or other community resources, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Support Team, especially the Coach to support the development of the Early Head Start Team, and the professional development of Home Visitors.
  • Support planning and facilitation of group socializations with Home Visitors, Health Services, and Family Community Partnerships Coordinators.
Additional Responsibilities
  • May maintain a small home visiting caseload.
  • Oversee Home Visitor staffing, caseload management and scheduling to ensure the program is meeting requirements.
  • May serve as the program administrator in the Home Visiting & Health Director’s absence.

Skills, Competencies And Experience
  • BA in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Family Studies, or related field; MA preferred.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience managing high-level professionals who work independently; demonstrated experience with continued professional development of a team or demonstrated history of leadership roles with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Three years’ experience working with children and families in an early childhood setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge related to infants and toddlers, maternal and child health, safety, nutrition, poverty, adult learning, family dynamics, and services to high-risk families.
  • Compassion and understanding of challenges and strengths of immigrant and refugee families.
  • Valid Washington State Driver’s License and daily access to a personal, legally licensed vehicle with proof of current automobile insurance or other reliable source of transportation.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Home Visiting Supervisor is regularly required to walk, stand, balance, sit for prolonged periods, speak clearly, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to use fingers, hands, and arms to manipulate and shuffle documents, use writing instruments, and type on a keyboard. Frequent local travel to client homes is required.

Employment Requirements

All staff must comply with state vaccination guidelines, including MMR, and provide a negative TB test (within the last 12 months) or an x-ray, as well as a pre-employment physical. The COVID-19 vaccine requirement remains in effect, with staff required to have at least complete initial dose, per the CDC schedule. Boosters are not required. Medical or religious exemptions may be requested, and if approved, weekly testing will be required.

Employment or volunteer service at Denise Louie Education Center is conditioned on a criminal background check as required by child care licensing and Head Start Performance Standards. The 60 categories of criminal convictions or pending charges disqualifying a person from having access to children in child care are in WAC 388-330-040.

Certain positions require degrees, coursework, or other certifications. You will be asked to provide proof of your stated education prior to hire.

Pay Range

The starting pay range for this position is $34.89 - $38.53 hourly per hour, depending on qualifications and professional experience.
