Job summary

Riderwood Village by Erickson Senior Living in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Home Support/Care Aide for part-time day shifts within a gated retirement community. You will provide personal care, assist with daily living activities, and support residents with housekeeping and meals.

Position offers 24–32 hours weekly across four options, onsite parking, education assistance, and a 401(k). CNA/GNA certification for MD and CPR are required; experience with seniors preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience serving the senior population preferred.
• Willingness to work part-time daytime shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Assist with housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Escort residents to appointments and social events.
• Promote psychosocial well-being through meaningful interactions.
• Follow infection control practices and report changes to the nurse.
• Maintain competency in required job skills and knowledge.

Location: Riderwood Village by Erickson Senior Living Join our team as a Home Support/Care Aide at our award-winning retirement community! Do what you love—without the travel! Our clients are all within our gated retirement community. As a caregiver, you’ll provide personal care, assist with daily living activities, handle housekeeping and meal preparation, and escort residents to appointments and social events. We're looking to fill various part-time DAY SHIFT positions.

Option 1: 24 hours per week - Monday- Friday 8:00am – 12:00pm - plus every other weekend

Option 2: 24 hours per week - Friday, Saturday, Sunday- 8:00am – 4:00pm

Option 3: 30 hours per week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am - 2pm - plus every other weekend

Option 4: 32 hours per week -Monday, Wednesday, Friday- 8:00AM - 4:00PM - plus every other weekend

How you will make an impact:

• Provide personal care and assists with activities of daily living
• Support residents by performing routine housekeeping tasks, meal planning and preparation, pet walking and feeding, closet organization, and kitchen chores
• Escort residents to appointments and social activities
• Promote psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationships
• Follow and execute standard Infection Control & Prevention practices
• Notify office/nurse in a timely fashion, of any change in a resident’s condition
• Maintain competency in the required job skills and knowledge

What you will need:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) for the State of Maryland as per State and Federal law and regulations
• Experience as a care provider serving the senior population is preferred
• CPR certification
