Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to deliver, set up, and support respiratory and home medical equipment in patients' homes and clinical settings. You will educate patients and caregivers to ensure safe, effective use and independence.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, equipment maintenance, and on-call availability. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with preferred healthcare or field-service experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service, Field-based, delivery, or healthcare experience preferred.
• One year of healthcare technician, military service, delivery/field service with customer service interaction or related experience preferred.
• Senior level requires two years of relevant experience, including one year in a similar role.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of HME products, services, and applicable regulations.
• Perform patient assessments and re-assessments to support ongoing care.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the safe use, care, and troubleshooting of respiratory and HME equipment.
• Respond to patient equipment issues, including under emergency conditions when required.
• Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled patient visits.
• Deliver, set up, retrieve, clean, and maintain equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards.
• Process orders and complete documentation accurately and timely to support patient care and reimbursement.
• Maintain basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing for equipment and services.
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with all company policies and compliance program requirements.
• Complete required compliance training and participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
