Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. in Logan, KY seeks a Home Medical Equipment Coordinator to manage intake, coordination, and timely fulfillment of HME orders.

You will liaise with referrals, patients, and care teams to ensure accurate documentation and adherence to physician orders. The role includes in-person equipment set-ups or fittings, patient education on use and safety, processing POS transactions, and coordinating deliveries.

• Ability to understand and speak English clearly and communicate with patients and team members.
• Adaptable to changing priorities and work collaboratively in a team.
• Field/Delivery: Valid driver's license, insured, reliable transportation; driving record will be verified.

Responsibilities

• Delivers exceptional customer service by promptly and courteously responding to inquiries and triaging to appropriate departments.
• Coordinates patient intake and order processing by gathering referral information and entering data into EMR; verifies insurance or self-pay status.
• Manages delivery and fulfillment of medical equipment and supplies with timely coordination with delivery staff.
• Supports patient discharges and transitions of care to ensure equipment setup for home use.
• Provides one-on-one patient support including equipment education and fittings aligned with physician orders.
• Processes POS transactions by entering orders, receiving payments, and coordinating delivery or pick-up.
• Collaborates across departments to ensure seamless service delivery and maintains relationships.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and compliance knowledge regarding Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing, plus privacy regulations.
