Job summary

The Froedtert & MCW regional health network seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy department under pharmacist supervision, preparing and distributing medications and maintaining operations at our Integrated Service Center and hospital locations in Menomonee Falls, WI. This on-site role requires Wisconsin registration and potential training of new staff.

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Shift: 1

Schedule: first shift position rotating between the Bluemound Infusion, Pavilion Infusion, and the Integrated Services Center locations

Job Summary

Following established policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. Oversees training of new technician staff. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. Other duties as assigned.

Experience

Minimum of 3 years work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent is required. For decentralized technicians - a minimum of 3 years work experience in a outpatient/community pharmacy is preferred.

Training

Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Licensure

Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.
