Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in Columbia, SC seeks a Home Infusion Pharmacy Manager (PIC) to oversee pharmacy, admin, and sales operations in compliance with regulations and policies. The role includes financial oversight and communication with owners on performance and clinical implementation.

The Manager ensures quality of care, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning to improve revenue and efficiencies; supervises staff and maintains sterile compounding standards.

Qualifications

• BS or PharmD in good standing with GA Board of Pharmacy.
• Good interactive skills with employees, referral sources, physicians, and consumers.
• Excellent written and verbal customer service skills and advanced computer skills.
• Business and financial understanding of operating a profitable business.
• Preferred: Three (3) years clinical experience.
• Preferred: Experience with management of pharmacy support personnel.
• Preferred: One (1) year experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding.
• Preferred: Sterile compounding training.

Responsibilities

• Performs pharmacy management activities in compliance with regulatory and ethical standards and organizational policies.
• Oversees the physical maintenance and organization of the pharmacy.
• Acts as a liaison between the Board of Managements and staff.
• Interviews, orients, and evaluates employees within company departments.
• Upholds regulatory mandates on the provision of health care by professionals.
• Resolves questions, problems, and issues across departments.
• Implements and upholds company policies, procedures, and protocols in service delivery.
• Participates in strategic planning to increase revenue and improve quality of care.
• Maintains USP <797> knowledge to assure sterility of compounded preparations.
• Leads performance improvement processes and assigns staff to improvement activities.
• Reviews charts and lab results for product/ device selection and supply management.
• Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness, cost, safety, and completeness.
• Monitors patient progress and communicates results to physicians and healthcare team.
• Supervises pharmacy staff in compounding, packaging, and labeling.
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees and in performance improvement activities.
• Participates in on-call rotation as needed.
