Job summary

Elara Caring in Valparaiso, IN is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to support home-based patients. You will work under a supervising Physical Therapist to deliver therapy, monitor progress, educate families, and help patients regain mobility and independence.

Candidates must have an unrestricted PTA license for Indiana, complete a PTA program, and be comfortable traveling to patient homes. We offer strong benefits, 401(k) with match, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for Indiana.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with transfers and equipment.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services per treatment plan established by the supervising PT.
• Help patients work toward therapy goals to improve mobility and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to supervising PT.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques.
• Teach use of assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics).
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services following physician orders and state guidelines.
