Job summary

AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH in Richardson, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for per diem day shifts to provide PT services under the supervision of a licensed PT and according to an approved care plan. You will observe patient responses, document progress, and coordinate care with the physician and care team.

The role requires a CAPTE-accredited PTA program graduate, current TX PTA license, CPR certification, and ideally 1 year of home health experience; mentoring is possible for less

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapy assistant in the assigned state (TX).
• Graduate from an accredited PTA program per CAPTE.
• One year PTA experience in home health preferred; mentoring may be required for less experience.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services under the direction of a supervising PT and per plan of care.
• Observes and reports patient responses and changes in condition to the PT and clinical staff.
• Documents supervisory activities and patient progress in the medical record.
• Participates in care conferences, quality improvement activities and referrals to community resources.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and coordinates follow-up with the admitting agency.
