Job summary

At Home Healthcare, part of the UnitedHealth Group family through LHC Group, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to contribute to patient well-being in home health settings. You will assist in executing the plan of care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through exercises, documenting responses, coordinating with the care team, and instructing family

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and adhere to plan of care defined by supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and prosthetic training
• Observe and report patient responses; coordinate care with healthcare team
• Instruct patient, family, and caregivers in therapy within PT assistant scope
• Function in various home situations irrespective of patient background
